Learning to crochet!

My first single crochet square. I couldn't sleep because I was too excited to learn how to crochet, so Jake went to sleep. The next morning when he work up, he saw it and came and woke me up telling me how impressed he was! haha... this is the most simple crochet technique and it's pretty simple so I thought it was funny, but he was so cute! I never knew how supportive he was of me... even in the most simple of ways! I love him.

This is called a Granny Square. It's actually an even square, but it looks lopsided because of the angle that I took the picture.

After trying on practically every ring in the store, I found this one and Jake really liked it too! All the next night, he kept holding up my hand and saying, "you know what this means, right? That you're going to be my wife!" He's so darn cute!!

13 weeks 2 days - Baby Bump

Sorry it's so blurry, but I was having a difficult time getting a picture of myself. ha, ha. You can see the bump though :)

Baby's First Picture!

I went to the doctor yesterday with Jake and we heard the heartbeat, but today I went to the doctor and I got to see our little one jumping around! I wish Jake was able to be there but he had to work since he took yesterday off. As soon as the doctor started, our little baby was sitting upright and began jumping around! It was amazing to see! Tears started falling down my face immediately. Reality hit hard and very sweetly! I'm a mom! The doctor measured our angel at 7cm, putting me at 12 weeks. The heart was at 171BPM. Due date is June 24th, exactly when I thought I would be due. I knew I had known all along! Mother's instinct ;)

I have a feeling...

I swear I knew the day it happened! I took test after test after test! Until finally... I got a faint positive!!

 YUP!!!! We're having a baby!! And apparently I got pregnant THE WEEK I MOVED TO CALI!! Haha! Well, I guess Jake & I didn't really fall in love or move in together slowly... why not get pregnant right away!

California Beach Day

Jake asked me to move to California with him and so... I did! He drove out on a Sunday and I was to follow him that following Saturday so I could pack up and finish my work schedule. The longest six days of my life!! Well, the day I was supposed to drive out to California with all my stuff my car broke down! ARGH! So... having been super stressed out all week trying to figure out all my bills and get rid of as much as I could so I could pack lightly for wherever his job would be taking us for the next few years, I was definitely let down. The second I told him about my car, he told me to book the first flight out because he wanted to see me THAT night like planned. Neither of us could stand another minute longer than absolutely necessary.

Hopped on a flight and the next day... BEACH DAY! I love the beach!

Found this rose that had just washed up on the beach. When we came back up the shore, there were dozens more! So romantic!

Sunset

Jake picked me up from rs. work because he had a surprise for me. When I opened the door, he had a bouquet of flowers on the seat and drove me up the mountains. We made it to the top just in time to pour mimosas and watch the sun set! This was the night we talked about the depth of our feelings and he asked me to move to California with him. It was so romantic, I didn't want the night to end. We ended up staying and watching the stars for hours.

It was the weirdest thing... I had a dream that Jake sent me flowers and then the next day at work, he actually did! SOOOOO sweet!! I love him!

Someone trusted me enough with a gun to teach me how to shoot it! I got pretty good :)

This is Natalie. She is married to Paul (who's birthday it was to inspire the hot air balloon ride). Jake, Paul, and Natalie came into The Garage all the time after the boys got off work to have a drink and some dinner... that's how we all met.
